Jells Park Primary School eLearning Vision

The Information and Communication Technology revolution has enormous and exciting implications for the future of education at Jells Park Primary School. Students will be empowered because the new technologies allow them to go beyond the local education provisions – they can have access to the world’s resources.

Learning Technologies offer an exciting and challenging way of enhancing student learning.  It can provide both students and teachers with access to information and learning resources and provide opportunities to develop new and highly innovative learning strategies.

In creating our eLearning Vision Jells Park Primary School recognises that:

  • a large percentage of students will enter careers, which do not exist and will involve technology, which has not yet been invented.
  • employees are likely change professions, not just jobs, many times during their working life.

Our eLearning plan will ensure that our students:

  • can use the Internet to access the wider world.
  • can use multimedia to showcase knowledge e.g. Powerpoint presentations.
  • are comfortable with new technology and are willing to see ICT as a lifelong learning pathway.
  • recognise their preferred learning style and individual strengths and weaknesses
  • can think logically and critically to solve problems
  • are flexible, creative and innovative risk takers

Our eLearning plan will ensure that educational practice will take learning beyond the classroom, enhancing learning outcomes, levels of achievement, engagement and motivation.

At Jells Park Primary School, Information and Communication Technologies will be further integrated across the curriculum.  Computers and software will be used to enhance and extend options available in curriculum development.  Access to Smartboards, multi media software, the Internet, Email, digital cameras, scanners video conferencing and other electronic and computerised devices will be available to all teachers and students.
