Prep Orientation

Why have it?

It is a program which enables the preps of the following year to:
Meet their "buddies".  Each child in Prep is assigned to at least one Grade 6 student.  This student helps the child to become more familiar with the school and what school life is like. The "buddy" program creates in the child a sense of confidence and security with the knowledge that the child knows an older, more confident member of the school community.

Become familiar with the school environment.

Become familiar with the workings of the school and the school classroom.  Each child will participate in  Art, Indonesian, classroom and PE lessons.

In all, there are 4 sessions the children attend.

Parent Sessions

There are 4 sessions for parents to attend.  In these sessions they will be introduced to various aspects of school community, such as the "Friends of Jells Park" After-School Care, Canteen and Uniform Shop.

Parents will also be given a number of strategies to help prepare their children for Prep.
