Student "Rights and Responsibilities" booklets are distributed to all children in Term 1 each year, with a special focus being given to the content during lessons and class meetings.

COURTESY is:  

  • Being polite
  • Respecting others and their belongings  
  • Being a good listener   
  • Appreciating others by being patient, taking turns and not interfering in the games of  others   
  • Sharing

 CLEANLINESS is:

  • Helping to keep the whole school clean and tidy   
  • Being responsible for your own litter and disposing of it properly     
  • Keeping yourself clean

CONSIDERATION is:

  • Thinking before you act     
  • Thinking of the feelings and needs of other     
  • Understanding that others are different and respecting their feelings, beliefs and opinions    
  • Treating others as you want to be treated     
  • Respecting others’ rights     
  • Supporting others when they are in need     
  • Being aware of and accepting the consequences of your actions – to yourself and to others.
  • Being truthful!     
  • Appreciating the successes of others and displaying friendship / sportsmanship    

 COOPERATION  is:

  • Getting along with people 
  • Being on time    
  • Working with others by being part of a group or team     
  • Sharing and accepting different roles – as an individual, member of a group, or leader   
  • Taking responsibility for yourself and your actions  
  • Obeying rules – class, safety, school, home
  • Completing tasks on time  

CARE is:

  • Taking care of property – your own, other people’s and the school’s
  • Thinking about people’s emotions and feelings   
  • Being kind to everyone, not just your friends   
  • Sharing your games and equipment with others   
  • Following school safety rules to protect yourself, others and school property     
  • Being careful in your games to avoid injuries
