Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) can help students learn the competencies and skills they need to build resilience and effectively manage their emotions, behaviour and relationships with others.
At Jells Park PS we have a structured half hour at the start of every day to address and teach the social and emotional needs of the students. As this is a structured part of the curriculum it is assessed and reported to parents. The student competencies are closely linked to the school values.
Teachers use the Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationship (4Rs) resources to support their instruction in the classroom.
